We got back last night from our three weeks in San Diego. While we were there, we did quite a lot of swimming at the pool and the beach, hit nearly every beach in the area, went to SeaWorld, rode the metro train (cause the boys love trains), explored Old Town, went to the Birch Aquarium, took a boat tour of the harbor, saw the Maritime Museum, and had Nana visit for a week (my mom). So it was a good vacation. I’ll miss the hotel breakfast and the maid service, but as the boys declared last night, it’s good to be home.
The kitty is still debating whether to forgive us or not, of course. He was home by himself with a friend coming by to feed/water him and make sure his litter was clean and that he was still alive, and though normally we hardly see him because he does his own thing, apparently being gone was not acceptable.
Hubby will be home in about 2 weeks, and will be here for about 2 weeks. While he’s home I’m going to try to get him to tear out the carpet in the living room and dining room and put down laminate floors. Because I literally can’t stand the carpet any longer. I also want to paint the living room, which I haven’t been able to do while he’s gone because some furniture I can’t move on my own.
So September is going to be a busy month, with kindergarten and home improvement projects.
